First Communion

Registration for classes for year 2022-2023 is on Sunday, August 28th from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Classes begin on Sunday, September 11th!

The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch. - CCC1324

 

The First Reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist

Archdiocese Requirements:
  • The child must be a Baptized Catholic of at least 7 years of age.
  • The child must have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance
  • There must be a reasonable time between the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance and the Sacrament of the Eucharist
  • Successfully completed the 1 year Sacramental preparation classes
    -If done at another parish, a letter from the Director of Religious Education at that parish must be provided.
  • Has been enrolled and successfully completed 2 consecutive years of formal religious education prior to reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
    -If done at another parish, a letter from the Director of Religious Education at that parish must be provided.
  • The family must be registered with the parish and attend mass and Holy Days as a family, on a regular basis.
  • Records of Baptism and Reconciliation may be required.
